Charleston International Airport (CHS)
Charleston International Airport (CHS) is the closest airport. From the airport it is about a 45 minute drive to the island. We recommend renting a car if flying, as Uber and Lyft do not operate on the island.
Wedding transportation will be provided on Saturday for all guests staying on the island. The transportation schedule will be posted here as we get closer to the wedding weekend.
There are also parking lots at both the welcome party and wedding venues should you want to drive. Cars can be left overnight.
For all other transportation around the island, guests of Kiawah Resort can use the on-demand shuttle by calling 843-768-2900. Please allow 20-30 minutes for service.
THE SANCTUARY
The Sanctuary is a 5-star oceanfront resort and is the only hotel located on-island. The hotel is part of the Kiawah Island Golf Resort and provides access to amenities like complimentary shuttle services to resort venues around the island, access to resort pools, discounts and preferred reservations for golf and tennis, and preferred dining and spa reservations.
We have a select group of rooms blocked at The Sanctuary Hotel. Please call 1-866-763-5056 for assistance with group reservations. Please tell the agent you are booking as a part of the Kochard-Masters Wedding. We recommend booking here as the transportation pick-up/drop-offs will be to and from the hotel.
Kiawah Villa & Home Rentals
The Island is mostly comprised of homes and villas for guests to rent. You can rent directly through Kiawah Island Golf Resort (KIGR) to take advantage of resort amenities including pool access and on-demand shuttle transportation around the island.
Please book under the "Kochard-Masters Wedding" for a discount off nightly rates for KIGR villas.

Akers Ellis Vacation Rentals
Akers Ellis offers an extensive variety of Kiawah Island rentals to choose from, including private homes, cottages, beachfront villas, and condos.

Andell Inn
Andell Inn is located in Freshfields Village close to many restaurants and shops. The hotel is a Marriott property with a pool and fitness area. PLEASE NOTE that guests staying here will have not have access to Kiawah aside from the wedding events, and the Kiawah Island Shuttles will not pick up/drop off at this location.

FAQ
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
The dress code for the wedding is Black Tie -- tuxedos and formal evening gowns. The dress code for the welcome party is cocktail attire. Men should wear sport coats, slacks, and NO TIES.
WILL THE CEREMONY BE OUTSIDE?
Yes! Please bring a jacket or shawl for cool weather. Additionally, the ceremony and cocktail hour will take place on grass so please wear comfortable footwear.
ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED AT THE CEREMONY?
We kindly ask that young children do not attend the ceremony and other wedding events.
WILL THERE BE TRANSPORTATION OR PARKING AVAILABLE?
Transportation will be provided for the wedding day. Please stay tuned to our wedding website as we approach the wedding for a detailed schedule.
There will be plenty of parking available as well as valet. Please plan to arrive early if you need to park.

BIKING
Kiawah is an amazing place to bike, either on the designated bike paths that run throughout the island or directly on the beach. If you are staying at The Sanctuary, bikes will be made available to you through the hotel. Otherwise, you can rent bikes from Kiawah Resort, Island Bike & Surf Shop, or Seacoast Sports.

Freshfields Village is a retail destination just outside of the gates of Kiawah near the entrance of the island. It offers 30 shops, restaurants, a grocery store, spirits/wine stores, and a hotel. Some of the stores include Bluemercury, Lululemon, Faherty, GDC Home, LoveShackFancy, Charleston Shoe Company, and more.

THE DUNLIN
The Dunlin, part of the Auberge Resorts Collection, is a new resort located outside of Kiawah Island in a beautiful setting on the river. Non hotel guests can make reservations at Linnette’s restaurant or the Aster Spa, or have a drink at the Willet Room lobby bar.
